‘Team Obaseki’ to pay National Chairman Salah Visit as Atonement for return of peace!
In his book, ’48 Laws of Power’, Robert Greene, the eccentric American author outlined the importance of Law 22… “The Surrender Tactic: Transform Weakness into Power.”
According to Greene, “…when you are weak, never fight for honor’s sake; instead choose surrender instead.” Surrender he says, gives you time to recover, time to wait for “his power” to wane. “Do not give him the satisfaction of fighting and defeating you. Surrender first!
For those fighting on both sides of the nonreasoningly House of Assembly battle, the 48 Laws of Power, is a handy practical guide for anyone who wants power, who wants to observes power, or wants to arm themselves against power.
The laws are a distillation of 3,000 years in the history of power, drawing on the lives of strategists and historical figures like Niccolò Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, Haile Selassie I, Carl von Clausewitz, Queen Elizabeth I, Henry Kissinger, and P.T. Barnum. Each law has its own chapter, complete with a ‘transgression of the law’, ‘observance of the law’, and (or) a ‘reversal’ of the law.
From Midwest Herald strategic analysis, the wisdom of Robert Greene may have played cautionary role in the last night meeting between the Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and the All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Mr. Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole.
The meeting which was the initiative of Africa richest man, Mr. Alike Dangote, took place in the ‘salt and cement baron’ Abuja residence.
Those in attendance were: Governor Godwin Obaseki, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, the Secretary to Edo State Government, Osarodion Ogie Esq, the Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Philip Shiabu, who was recalled from his vacation for the meeting. Also present was Mr. Niyi Adebayo, the former Ekiti State Governor, as well as their host, Dangote.
Reliable sources confirmed to Midwest Herald that the meeting gave the embattled APC National Chairman a window for breather, haven come under severe attacks from all sides of the country, including members of the Progressives Governors Forum.
“Oshiomhole’s relief was obvious from his audacious laughter and boisterous promises which re-enacted his usually confident self.”
Deal done, the trio of Oshiomhole, Governor Obaseki and Dangote later paid visit to Mr. Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to President Mohammadu Buhari, at least to pass the much awaited news onward to the Commander-in-Chief who has not hidden his anger over the “sad” development in Edo and Bauchi States.
The last ditch attempt to drag the president into a seemingly constitutional and internal crisis in both houses of assembly was all that Buhari needed to send matching order to the APC National Chairman to stop the slide to anarchy in Edo and Bauchi States.
“The cautious reply by the president that he will find solution to the Bauchi House of Assembly crisis when a new minister for justice is sworn in is a reflection of his disappointment in the way and manner Oshiomhole is leading the party.” A source confided with Midwest Herald ‘Reporter Without Boarder’, last night.
The news of a ‘brand new’ romance has been celebrated in Aso Rock, because according to our source, the fear of loosing Edo State was almost a “foretold” reality.
Perhaps, tired of the unending battle which has become more of street fight, another source in the APC National Chairman’s office gave the story of how an obviously enraged Oshiomhole walked out his former Personal Assistant, Mr. Gani Audu out over his insistence that they must “fight to finish”.
However, the former local government council boss, turned parliamentarian denied having issues with the APC national chairman. “I have not seen him in the last three days to warrant me being sent out, so the report on me is completely wrong.” Mr. Audu stated.
In the next few days, the public will be treated to the public display of the new relationship when “Team Obaseki” will be hosted by the National Chairman for the Salah feast.
In the final analysis, will the grooms best man be able to savage a turbulent marriage? The next 483 days will tell!
More details later…
