The burial ceremony of late Mrs. Helen Atakpu may have come and gone, but the memories are sure to linger on for a long time to come.
So also, will the rumbles resonate across the political spectrum of Edo State. The ceremony that started on a lazy note, assumed feverish dimension with the arrival of Governor Godwin Obaseki and Mr. Adams Oshiomhole with his retinue of cheerleaders and chaperones.
The musician expectedly changed to monologue songs that eventually monopolized the hitherto serendipitous event.
It was obvious that Oshiomhole’s handlers were at work and made frantic effort to prove their point.
Sandwiched in between the governor and Oshiomhole, the bereaved son of the departed community matriarch was obviously elated to see the ‘trouble’ he caused by bringing the prey and predator to share the same seat, at least, in close proximity.
In all, Mr. Austin Atakpu, former Special Adviser on Revenue to Adams Oshiomhole gave his departed mother, Late Mrs. Helen Atakpu, a resounding sent forth. It was reminincent of stellar ceremonies.
