The battle for supremacy in Edo State has recorded perhaps the biggest victim with the suspension of Mr. Lawrence Okah.
Okah was the State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
In a chat with Midwest Herald, Okah confirmed that his suspension letter was dropped in his Benin City home, on Friday in Benin City.
The letter he explained, was signed by the State Chairman of the party, Anselm Ojezua. The decision to suspend the embattled Secretary Midwest Herald learnt was taken at an emergency meeting held by leaders and members of APC.
Pundits have speculated that the action of the party’s executives maybe connected to the ongoing tangle between forces loyal to the state Governor, Godwin Obaseki and the former governor and national chairman of APC, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole.
This position cannot be verified by Midwest Herald as major stakeholders are keeping sealed lips.
This new cautious deposition may not be unconnected with the fast dwindling political fortunes of Mr. Oshiomhole who last week, announced a phantom attack on his Benin City residence.
It will be recall that the state commissioner of police, denounced Oshiomhole’s claim and insisted that the APC national chairman was never attacked as he claimed.
Okah is believed to be Oshiomhole’s sympathizer.
