Barring any last minute changes, Edo State Government may invoke relevant sections of the Land Use Act to revoke the property of Mr. Osagie Ize-Iyamu, situated in Ugbor axis of Benin City, the State capital.
In the documents sighted by Midwest Herald, the property was registered at the Land Registry as a residential home, but a query has been appended to it relating to what the land office referred to as “unauthorized use”.
It will be recall that Mr. Osagie Ize-Iyamu recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and declared his membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC during a political rally in the house in question.
Leading to the event, the Inspector General of Police had also cancelled the planned rally as a result of security challenges that preceded the event, originally scheduled to hold at the Garrick Memorial School in the outskirts of the city.
Following the cancellation of the rally by the police authority, the state government, through the Secretary to Government, Osarodion Ogie Esq in a statement, warned property owners to avoid the temptation of using their property in “breach of the order”.
