GOV. OBASEKI (L) WITH OSHIOMHOLE

On July 3, 2019, Edo State council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, led by Oba Ewuare II met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja, and demand for his intervention to resolve the feud between Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and Governor Godwin Obaseki.

However, since then, nothing significant has changed. Rather, the acrimonious relationship has gone from bad to worse; with both politicians suspending each other.

There are indications that the prospect for peaceful reconciliation may be on the table today, January 8, 2020 at the annual rituals of Auchi Day in Etsako West Local Government of Edo State.

The event which is replete with cultural activities may be altered by political activities in attempt to stop the slide of the All Progressives Congress in Edo State.

The governor was invited as a Special Guest. The visit comes after the attack on Obaseki, Oba of Lagos and others at the residence of Mr. Adams Oshiomhole in Iyamho, a suburb of Auchi Town.

The visit of the governor to Auchi Day as Special Guest is reportedly the handiwork of the Edo State Council Of Traditional Rulers, in an attempt to unite Oshiomohle with the Governor Obaseki.

A source reported that “the annual Auchi Day, led by the Otaru Of Auchi, Alhaji Aliru Momoh, Ikelebe 111, celebrated with so much fanfares on the 8th Of January, will be remarkably different in tone and attendance this year as Royalties from different parts of country converge to resolve the disagreements between two illustrious sons of Edo State.”
