When the matter was mentioned in court today 27th of January 2020, the presiding Judge, Justice Chuku informed the parties about a petition against her by Oshiomhole, who is party in the suit.

The jugde said she has been ordered to transmit the case file to the Chief Judge of the state for reassignment to a new Judge.

The led Counsel to APC, the National Chairman of the Party, Adams Oshiomhole and the Caretaker Committee in Rivers State, Tuduru Edeh who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria while speaking outside the court room, told reporters that the petition was written by his client, Adams Oshiomole against the judge.

The Senior Advocate said “we came to take proceedings, incidentally the court pointed out that it was in recipet of a communication to have the matter reassigned following complaints by apparently the third defendant, Adams Oshiomole and therefore the court took the best option of having it re-assigned. You know whenever a matter is in courts it is the responsibility of the court to give the best shot at it and ensure that everybody is treated fairly”.

“We will await the assignment by the chief judge to a new judge” , he said.

Also speaking outside the court room, the the counsel to the applicant, Echezona Etiaba who is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria said the initial court injunction stopping the Congresses still subsists.

You will recall that one Igo Aguma had last December secured an injunction stopping the APC from organising the congresses in the state.
