In its recent update on COVID-19 situation in Nigeria, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has ranked the 774 local government areas in Nigeria according to the numbers of reported cases of COVID-19 infection.
The report revealed that 62,583 samples had been tested as of May 30 and about 10,023 contacts of positive patients had been followed up to the same date.
The report places Lagos at top with 11 out of the top 20 local government areas with confirmed cases of COVID-19.
This places Lagos at the epicentre of COVID-19 in Nigeria, followed by Kano state.
Edo State is presently ranked fifth as the state with disturbing Coronavirus infection cases. In the same vein, Oredo Local Government Area has been listed as the 22nd highest community with confirmed cases. The figure was put at 126 cases.
