APC Crises: Ailing Ajimobi Replaces Oshiomhole

The National Working Committee NWC of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC has named an ailing Sen. Abiola Ajimobi as its acting National Chairman.

The former Oyo State Governor is presently on ventilator in the Coronavirus ward at First Cardiologist Hospital, Ikoyi Lagos.

The decision of the NWC the affirmative ruling of the Appeal Court on Tuesday June 16, 2020.

The court affirmed the suspension of the National Chairman, Mr. Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole by an Abuja High Court earlier in March.

Accepting the fate that has befallen the party, the National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu announced the choice of Ajimobi as a replacement for the sacked Oshiomhole.

He explained that the APC have received the news indicating the Appeal Court has upheld the suspension of the Party’s National Chairman, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole by an FCT High Court pending the determination of the substantive suit.

“Guided by advice from the Party’s legal department in line with the provisions of Section 14.2. (iii) of the Party’s constitution, the Deputy National Chairman (South), Sen. Abiola Ajimobi will serve as the Party’s Acting National Chairman.

“According to Section 14.2. (iii),of the APC constitution, the Deputy National Chairman, North/South “Shall act as the National Chairman in the absence of the National Chairman from his zone”, the statement stated.

The choice of Ajumobi is seen by Manny as a ploy by the Oshiomhole’s faction to create a stalemate and to perpetuate the decisions taken by NWC under the leadership of Adams Oshiomhole.

According to the sceptics, “Ajumobi is unwell and critically sick and on life support, fighting the dreaded Coronavirus in the last two weeks.
