Deputy Gov. Docked for Stealing

Mr. Olusegun Adesegun, a former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, was today, Thursday April 21, 2022, docked at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly being in possession of a Certificate of Occupancy (CO) belonging to Babatunde Oderinde, a retiree.

News men learned that, the charges against Adesegun bothers on conspiracy, concealing deeds, forcible entry and forcible possession. He denied all.

Before serving as Deputy Governor of Ogun State between (2011-2015), Adesegun was Commissioner for Works and Housing in the state (twice).

Adesegun was said to have committed the offence of stealing and land grabbing between 2003 and 2017 at the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Cooperation office (NDIC), Lagos.

He allegedly conspired with some persons to steal the CO and property kept with the NDIC, belonging to the retiree.

He subsequently took possession of the parcel of land at No 2, Osilaja Street, Opebi- Oregun link road, Lagos, belonging to Oderinde.

If convicted, Adesegun risks a two-year jail term
