Thieves Break into Liberian President George Weah’s Home

A local news source, and Smart News Liberia, has quoted multiple sources that, thieves have broken into President George Weah’s 9th street Palace.

Smart News said the criminals made away with several unspecified items.

“Our reporter who went on the scene saw increased security presence, but none of them would speak on the issue.
“People living near the president’s private mansion confirmed the incident but declined to speak on the record.
“The Liberian leader does not officially reside in the house, but there has been the presence of security forces providing protection.
“It is not clear how the alleged thieves made their way into the well-protected private mansion of the Liberian leader.

“Smart News contacted the presidential press secretary on the report, but he would not pick up or return our several calls. Mr. Solo Kelgbe’s phone rang endlessly.

“It is said the national security agency is investigating the incident.

“CCTV footage would help the situation, said a source. Details will follow. investigation continues.” The new source reported.

Insecurity is a major challenge facing the government of Liberia.
