Disturbing news coming from Benin City, the Edo State capital indicates that Prof. Sylvanus Okogbenin the Chief Medical Director of Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital has been abducted by kidnappers. The incident happened at Ramat Park, a suburb in the city.
The first incident and eye witness reports speculated that two mobile policemen attached to Dr. Okogbenin were also fatally wounded while another opined that one of them died on the spot, while the other gave up the ghost on arrival at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital.
It was learnt that the medical director was on his way to Irrua in company of his security escorts when his adaptors blocked his vehicle in a daredevil maneuvering before opening fire on his vehicle.
Some passers-by explained that the hoodlums operated with two vehicles – a Lexus jeep and a Toyota.
Meanwhile, Edo State Police command is yet to issue a statement on the sad incident.
