The plan by the suspended National Chairman, of All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole to hit back at those fighting to remove him from office hit the rocks awhile ago when he was suddenly invited to Aso Rock on the order of President Mohammadu Buhari.
Inside sources in Oshiomhole’s Aso Drive private office told Midwest Herald that the embattled ex governor and suspended national chairman had instructed his press handlers to invite news hunters preparatory to a “world press conference” to announce the breather he got from a Federal High Court in Kano.
The reporters were shocked to see an anxious Oshiomhole rushing for the exit just as he rhetorically asked “…are you people pitying me?”
He ran out into a waiting car without pleading for a no show press parley. This will be the second time in less that two weeks that Mr. Oshiomhole will invite press and be prevailed upon not to speak.
His aides later apologized for his action and blamed the cancellation on the invitation from the President.
A source confided in Midwest Herald that Buhari expressed concern about the unending controversies that is plaguing the party. He expressed worry over his inability to bring the crisis under control despite the fact, that he was reassured on several occasions by his guest, that he was capable of restoring confidence in the party.
Going by the configuration of the power blocks within the National Working Committee and the National Executive Committee, Oshiomhole’s job as the National Chairman of APC can only be saved by the NEC which will hold any moment to stop the gradual dismantling of the ruling party.
