Kidnapping: Catholic Priests Regain Freedom in Edo

Few hours after the Edo State Acting Governor, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu held an enlarged State Security Council meeting with stakeholders in Benin City, the state capital, two Catholic Priests that were earlier kidnapped by gunmen, have been freed unhurt.

News of the release of Rev. Father Udo Peter of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Uromi, and Rev. Father Philemon Oboh of St. Joseph Retreat Centre, Ugboha, in Esan South East Local Government Area of the state, has been praised, especially in the wake of the renewed effort by Edo State Government and security agencies to combat insecurity in the state.

It will  e recalled that the Acting Governor had given directive to the security agencies and traditional rulers in Edo State, to compliment effort aimed at fighting insecurity.
