Members of the Edo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, and St. Maria Goretti Girls Grammar School, Benin, two groups where Princess Osarugue Eunice Egbobawaye was an active member are devastated by her sudden death.
Family members and eye witness accounts disclosed that the lady suddenly slumped and died while celebrating the successful outcome of the St. Maria Goretti Girls Grammar School anniversary of which she played a very prominent role in organising the programme.
In a short video clip made available to Midwest Herald the lady, who joined other members of the school’s old students association and present students in dancing for joy on the successful outcome of the event, suddenly slumped and fell on a chair.
All efforts to revive the amiable lady, who would have celebrated her 56th birthday on September 15th, 2019, came to noughts thus necessitating her been relocated to a hospital where she finally gave up the ghost.
Reliable sources said that the journalist and trained nurse had health challenges which she had quietly managed in the past.
It was further gathered that she had a recurrence of her health issue some time last month which resulted in her going into coma for three days before she regained consciousness.
Her doctor it was learnt had adviced her to abstain from doing anything that will make her exhausted not to further aggravate her condition.
Information gathered from family sources is that a member of the family based abroad is already making efforts to relocate the two children of the late likeable woman to overseas.
