The Pregressives Governor’s Forum Director General, Mr. Salihu Lukman, over the weekend, in less than fortnight, took the fight to Mr. Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, the All Progressives Congress, APC National Chairman.
The outspoken DG dismissed the ultimatum that was issued to him by a faceless group to withdraw his statement calling for the sack of Oshiomhole as national chairman of APC as ‘shadowy’.
A statement credited to two of Oshiomhole’s supporters had demanded Lukman’s withdrawal of the statement his apology on behalf of the troubled National Chairman.
But the DG on Sunday, February 2, 2020 dismissed the seven-day ultimatum given him to withdraw the memo he wrote to Chief Bisi Akande, where he accused the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole of being architect of the party’s crisis.
Lukman told The PUNCH Newspaper in an interview that the “shadowy group ought not to be taken seriously because.”
He explained that “…there are more serious issues. We are trying to build a party. What I wrote is an intervention; I am working on a formal presentation to the Chief Bisi Akande-led APC National Reconciliation committee.”
It will be recalled that for several months now, membership of the National Working Committee of the APC and majority of Progressive Governors have demanded the sack of Oshiomhole from office as the National Chairman.
Going by the outburst of the DG, PGF, the days ahead may decide the future of Adams Oshiomhole as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
