The Edo Forum of Patriots, EFP, an umbrella body made up of men and women of diverse background has congratulated the ministerial nominees from Edo State; Mr. Clement Agba and Dr. Osagie Ehanire.
In a release signed by Rt. Hon. Bright Omokhodion, for the Interim Management Committee, the forum emphasis that their appointment is due to hardwork.
“It is a common saying in Benin that; when a child washes his hands clean, he will dine with elders.
“The above aphoristic expression clearly depicts the personality of the two gentlemen from Edo state extraction that President Muhammadu Buhari in his constitutional duty sees worthy to work in tandem with him for the actualisation of his lofty vision, quest for rapid transformation, dreams and aspirations for the collective interest of our dear country.
“On this note, we, the members and leaders of Edo Forum Of Patriots, Inc, a think-tank group of men and women with the interest of Edo state and well-being of the country at heart wish to express our unreserved congratulations to Prince Clement Agba and Dr. Osagie Ehanire on this wonderful elevation to the position of Ministers.
“Your calls to serve is calculated and well articulated by the President, knowing full well that Edo State deserves better. It therefore rest on your shoulders as soldiers of transformation to take our country to the “promised land” along with all the political and socio-economic deliverables that Nigerians earnestly need as envisioned by the President. The country’s prosperity and your duty to serve can only be likened to a Siamese twins – and we urge you to use your good offices to its full effect, so that the trust reposed on you will give rise to growth and expected development.
“As we connect the dots of gratitude, it gladdens our hearts to sincerely thank His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare ll for his passionate plea for two Ministerial slots for Edo state when the President played host to him in Abuja. The intervention was concise and at the same precise, and without any iota of doubt, the President has demonstrated once more that he has respect for the traditional institutions in the country. Yielding to the request of our revered Oba is a testament to the already known fact on how dear Edo State is to Mr. President.
“Interestingly, we know that when things happen this way, there are “intrinsic factors” that worked assiduously towards its success. On this score, Gov. Godwin Obaseki and his predecessor, the indefatigable Chairman of the ruling APC, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole deserve a page of honour in our State’s political book.
“Edo Forum Of Patriots succinctly appeal to the newly nominated Ministers to do the needful at all times to the best of their God-given abilities, uphold the social integrity of the group and live above board in the dispensation of their assigned duties. In the same vein, to use their good offices to clamour for peace in the ongoing rift in the Edo State House of Assembly. The scenario is very unfriendly, volatile and could work adversely against the attainment and interest of peace and democratic norms.
